We contacted Governor LePage today to ask him to pass the proposed tanning bill in Maine.
This issue, unfortunately, has become a political debate. Some are arguing that parents should be able to decide whether their children can use tanning beds or not. We feel that most busy parents do not have the information that they need to know in order to make a good decision.
If they are relying on the tanning facilities’ educational materials they are not getting the whole story. We need to get the word out- the best way to beat melanoma is to prevent it in the first place. No tan is worth losing a life!

LD272 An Act to reduce Teenage Cancer Risk

We were honored to share Andrew’s story at the Maine legislature last week in support of a bill supporting the ban on tanning beds for teenagers under the age of 18. We were joined by doctors and melanoma survivors in our testimony. We urged the State to pass this ban because the best way to beat melanoma is to prevent it in the first place. Please encourage your representatives to support this bill. Thank you! Craig and Ginny
